Electronics Engineer

ICT International is a sales and manufacturing company with expertise in environmental, scientific, and agricultural instrumentation. The marketing of this instrumentation is based on 40 years commercial and research application experience. The company has a strong national and international customer base dealing with the leading research scientists and environmental professionals around the world.

Electronics Engineer Position

Duties:

  • Repair of ICT International instrumentation
  • On-line and phone customer support
  • Customer technical application support
  • Sales support regarding electronics configurations
  • Assisting with R&D activities in relation to product development.
  • In-house and on-site instrument testing

 Selection Criteria

Required Skills:

  • Communication skills essential both written and oral.
  • Work independently as well as part of the ICT International testing and production teams.
  • Work occasionally under pressure across a diversity of tasks.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of practical electronics and an interest in its application to the physical sciences.
  • Proven methodical problem-solving skills with the ability to work logically from “first principles”.
  • Mechanical aptitude: ie solder, assemble, and disassemble, instruments.
  • Ability to solve dataset problems to assist Sales Department.
  • Sound computer skills and a willingness to learn additional computer skills.
  • Attention to detail and a sound understanding of the importance of customer relations.
  • Demonstrated organisational office skills, initiative, diligence, and the ability to work independently.
  • Drivers licence.

Preferred additional skills but not essential

  • Advanced knowledge of electronics or other related industries.
  • Customer service experience
  • PLC background and experience.
  • IoT instrument assembly and programming.

Qualifications

  • An Electronic Engineering Degree
  • Or an equivalent alternative combination of relevant knowledge, training and experience; with a minimum Trade Certificate in Electronics.

Appropriate procedural on the job product training will be provided.

The position is permanent. Salary: commensurate to skills and experience.

Electronic Production Assembly

 ICT International designs, manufactures and deploys bespoke, integrated, wireless monitoring solutions for commercial agriculture, scientific and environmental research in the natural and built environments.  ICT International exports these technologies to over 55 countries annually from its manufacturing base in Armidale.

Position: Electronic Production Assembly

ICT International is looking for a full-time person to assist with the assembly and production of ICT International instrumentation. The production processes are micro-processor based, incorporate soldering and making precision components towards many end products.

The position requires a self-motivated organised person with the ability to work without supervision and to be quality driven.  Most importantly you must have very good eyesight, dexterity, and fine motor skills.  Proficiency in the standard Office suite of software is essential as is the ability to adapt to various proprietary software packages.

While exposure to an assembly environment and soldering experience is desirable, technical aptitude is a must. An interest in electronics and environmental sciences will also be an advantage.  Full training will be provided. Salary commensurate to skills and experience.

Qualifications

  • Trade Certificate in Electronics.
  • Relevant work-related experience; or an equivalent alternative combination of relevant knowledge, training and /or experience.
  • Or a great drive and passion to learn electronics and electronic assembly and quality processes as you have the necessary essential skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently under limited supervision.

Appropriate on the job product assembly training will be provided.

Selection Criteria

Required skills

  • Able to follow procedure instructions precisely.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of practical electronics, technical aptitude.
  • Mechanical aptitude: ie solder, assemble, and disassemble, instruments.
  • Knowledge of micro-processor-based production.
  • Have an attention to detail, fine motor skills, good dexterity, and good eyesight.
  • Be self-motivated but capable of working in a cohesive team environment.
  • Work to weekly deadlines in times of normal and high flow capacity whilst maintaining quality output.
  • Sound computer literacy skills and the ability to adapt to various propriety software packages.
  • Demonstrated organisational office skills, initiative, diligence, and common sense.

Preferred additional skills but not essential

  • Exposure to an electrical/electronics assembly environment and soldering is preferred although not essential.
